"Just Walk"

I forgot who told me this story (as I like to write and collect those good stories that i have heard) ever since 1991 (since my first job in Retailing environment)

So the story goes like this......
A passer by once asked a farmer who was farming diligently on how long for him to reach the Village market.
The farmer replied ... "you just walk" ...
so the passerby walked with hesistant...., but in one minute time the passerby asked again .." how long the time to reach the market?"....the Farmer replied ..."Just Walk'
After awhile, the Farmer shouted from far to the Passerby .. "30 MINUTES!!" The farmer said I really don't know how fast you walk thus I have to see you walk first then I can tell. So in your case is 30 minutes, as for my self it will take me 3 minutes" ........

Well in life we always hesitate with our decisions although we 'walk' the decisions but we keep on look back and asking ... 'am i doing the right thing? and so on and so forth.....so this will delay our journey.

Well ... Once we have make a good and informed analysis of the circumstances, then the next thing is "JUST WALK" or in nike terms ... Just Do it!!

what is fear?

FEAR could be a synoym to False Expectations Appearing Real
It was an indecisive week (last 7 days) as I was in midst of deciding to leave my 10 years employment to another one.
I could not decide as I was still have the fear of unknown and quite reluctant to leave the comfort zone ( its not easy to move from away from familiar to the unknown).
Again I learned and inspired by my daughter Eeanne this time.
Eeanne, she is 2 years plus old now, she is so energetic even though when there is no electricity in the house.
It was Wednesday nite, as usual we reached home after 9 pm, but this time the entire housing area was in darkness (temporary no power supply). So we have to live in darkness for 2 hours. We have to rely on candles and torch light. But it was not enough candles and torchlight to light up the whole house. But Eeanne was so excited, to her the temporary no power supply has presented her a new experience.
She did not even show any fear of darkness, on contrary she make full use of the torchlight to explore every corner of the house.
Suddenly I 'realised' something and I have the answer to my question of to resign from my current employment and move to a new organisation.
And the answer was obvious, it is because of my preconceived ideas or 'conditions' that i have accrued... so to speak that hindered me from making a concious decision.
Well, thank to my daughter of naiveness and sense of adventure that has helped me to reconciled my inner dilemma/conflict.

Birthday

Today I attended my Grand Aunty (姑 婆) 85th Birrthday Dinner. I took the opportunity to ask her a lot about my great grandfather history. To my surprise my grand Aunt has a very good memories (I mean at her age).

I learned a lot about great grandfather humble experiences and how difficult his early life when he reached Malaya (name of Malaysia back then before independent).

惠 子 渡 河 (Huizi Crosses a River)

I was reading a chinese fables to my daughter yesterday and i came a cross this story about the Huizi Crossing the river.
Huizi was an intelligent statesman from state of Song and he was about to set out on a journey to the another state named Liang.
He was so rush and hurry during his journey until he fell into a river while crossing it. Luckily he was saved by a boatman nearby.
The Boatman asked Huizi, "why are you in such a hurry?"
Huizi replied, " The state of Liang has lost its prime minister. i'm going there to be the prime minister."
The Boatman laughed at Huizi for he could not even cross the river in proper, how can he be a prime minister.
Huizi had a very good reply," Of course Mr.Boatman, I'm of no match for you in handling a boat, but when it comes to ruling the state, you're just an ignorant blind tiger compared with me"

Well what the moral of the story ? : Everyone has his own worth and we must listen to the other party opinions and concerns.

Total Eclipse of the Sun

Today I have been asked by a friend whom graduated from science faculty. He asked ... "with so many researches has proven that the Sun Eclipses are the natural phenomenon, why you still believe that it will affect human being so negatively ? are you not being superstitious?"

It is indeed a good question and my answer was simple.

Everyone knows that when there is full moon there is a phenomena known as low tide and when there is New Moon appear there is another phenoma knowns as high tide. These are also scientifically proven that it is due to the movement of the moon orbiting our planet earth. But not until recent decades there is one thing the scientists also agreed that during the Full moon there are records of more people turn insane or 'go crazy' (especially for those mentally ill patient), this being explained by the scientists are due to the stronger gravity pull that affected 90% of the bodily fluids which in turn affected the overall human being biological activities.

So what we currently aware or know is the phenomena of the Sun eclipses but we still yet to understand how it affecting our biological activities.

Hence not until there are substantial reseaches are done on this, I will not take chances.

My Best of Bits and Pieces Experience

Who say the more you divide the lesser you get?
Try this .... You can multiply happiness by dividing it.
How about this one.... You can multiply knowledge as well by exchanging it !

I believe this is the power of Gratititude (Buddha mentioned it , kinda to this effect)

Feng Shui 'Plant'

Is Feng Shui a psychological thing or is it about 'real' energy? ; this was a question posed to me today by a non-chinese colleague of mine.

She was quite puzzled as there were 2 big plants put on her table (as she is a Receptionist-the first contact to outsiders into the huge Plant). Infact what ever put on her table reflected the organisation's believes systems and values.

Perhaps the mentioned organisation would like the visitors to have a perception that its(the organisation) has a lot of emphasis and care about the environment ? or were the plant put upon a Feng Shui Master advice?

Either reasons are not being tastefully done. If for Feng Shui reasons then it is really puzzled me. As a Feng Shui Practitioner, we all know that we place plants for certain reasons such as to draw the Qi or to reflect the gua of the sector, some of the example. Definitely would not like to place 2 huge pot of plants on the receptionist table.

Well, by now a lot of people would aware that merely by placing ornaments, trinkets and plants will not solve any feng Shui issues in a building.

It is the type and quality of Qi that the organisation is enjoying or at least try to tap that is important.

Well I would say this sort of action by putting plants in the hope of come major improvement to the organosation is somewhat like what Steven Covey mentioned before: " Leaning on to the wrong wall"

No matter how fast you climb to the top of the ladder and only realised when you reach the top rung and you look and exclaim " Oh my god ! i have been leaning against the wrong wall"

Well the moral of the story :
Have a complete plan or road map on what want to do and not piece meal planning. This same applies to metaphysical world. Get a whole Feng Shui Audit and not just the Entrance Lobby. Remember it is the LOCATION and the DIRECTION.

Why an organisation does not grow ?

It is not unusual that in today's business environment a lot of business owners will hold back on theirs business plans especially 'business growth plans'. In fact it is alright to hold back temporarily but it got to have time line for this temporary stand still. It should not be allowed as indefinite stagnant.

So What causes an organisations to become stagnant? Well it is invariably the leader of the business (the owner in many cases). As the old chinese idiom goes " Snake without it's head, it will not move". If the leader is not leading and/or leading without any direction then the team as well as the entire organisation will be so dysfunctional until that it is unable to follow.

Patrick Lencioni describes in his book "The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team" where there ae 5 areas in which a team (here i would like to include the entire organisation) can go wrong:

1. Absence of Trust
2. Fear and Conflict
3.Lack of Commitment
4.Avoidance of acountability
5. Inattention to results.

The most important factor among the listed above is the first dysfunction, the lack of trust. Nothing will move if there is no trusts established between the owner and the employees, the leader and the followers, the managers and the staff.

So how to solve this metaphysically ?
Well at least the owner or the leader and the senior manager have to sit at the good sector (in terms of feng shui) and try to utilise the star 3 energy to jolt every one up at the first place.
As Star 3 also has the wood energy in nature which again the wood also signfies growth.

Of course the plans needs to be communicated .Just do it at  the right time, right date to brief the employees, follower or staff (about the organisations plans in how to brave through the temporary tough & rough time now.)

10 Heavenly Stems Characteristics

Well, is that correct that the Day Master Heavenly Stems tells it all about a person characters?
Of course no, the day master element basically to tell a person intrinsic nature or so call 'early heaven' character.

For example Geng Metal (yang metal) day master person intrinsically has the nature of altruism, tough minded, decisive and others characteristics take resemblence to a yang metal. But this is not all, Ba zi consultant needs to incorporate the 10 gods/stars into reading of a person characters.

The inclusive of the 10 gods labels can be termed as the persons 'later heaven' characteristics. The interactions of the Day master with the rest of the 10 gods or elements tell a person personality is and how he or she reacts when in real society. Whereas the reading of the day master alone will not tell much of a person reactions in a real society.
